Big Bear Cider Mill, Braintree

Based on a disused gravel pit in Braintree, Essex, The Big Bear Cider Mill is home to 17 varieties of apples.  They love nature, encouraging birds, insects and wildlife to propagate and protect their 3,500+ trees.

Big Bear's core values are all about sustainability and environmental responsibility, so they asked us to explore a natural and efficient renewable energy solution to reduce their carbon footprint and monthly outgoings.

How We Helped

We recommended a 31kW solar panel system with battery storage to meet 85% of their annual energy usage. The system comprised 66 x 470w solar panels and 19kW of battery storage.  Their estimated annual savings are £9,408. Now that deserves a round of apple-lause!
