Solar Panels & Battery Storage Taunton Drive Essex
We were approached by this client based in Taunton Drive, Essex, who was looking to reduce his energy bill by installing solar panels and battery storage. They were using 8,000kW of electricity per year to run their home and hot tub. To meet this energy demand, we designed a PV system capable of generating 10,789kW per year splitting the array so the panels faced south, east and west delivering a steady power supply to the house throughout the day.
We then added a 14.4kW solar storage battery to store the additional energy generated to use in the evening.
What We Installed
Jinko 435w Tiger Neo Solar Panels
For our residential client we used 29 of the Jinko Tiger Neo 435w (JKM435N-54HL4R-B) solar panels, giving a massive 12.615kW of solar power.
The 29 x 435 Jinko panels produce 10,789kWh per year, this system was a great fit for our client as his annual usage is estimated at 8000kWh.

Fox Ess K Series Hybrid Inverter
To deal with 29x435w Jinko solar panels, we needed a monster inverter! We installed the Fox ESS 10kW K series Hybrid inverter. This inverter is capable of running up to 15kW of solar power and 18kW of AC battery power and can deliver a constant 10kW of battery power to the house to deal with the most demanding of loads.
This Fox ESS hybrid inverter also has a built in EPS function to run your home in case of a power cut.
What we love about this inverter…
POWER! and flexibility. This unit has 4 MPPT trackers and a start up voltage of 75V. It can also run up to 7 batteries consisting of 1 master and 6 slaves.
Fox ESS Battery Storage
Based on the clients winter energy usage and expected solar production, we recommended the Fox ESS 14.4kW solar battery storage, made up of 1 master and 4 slaves.
What we love about this battery system…
Its fast to install, reliable and flexible. This system can run 2 more slaves taking the total battery up to 20kW if the customer needs it.

This flat roof system from Renusol is a great east/west solar flat roof solution. It offers good protection to the surface of the roof, it’s lightweight and easy to install.

System Performance
Utility savings based on switch from Standard Variable to Octopus Flux
the projected energy cost is calculated by considering a 7.0% increase in energy cost each year, due to trends in the raising cost of energy. This estimate is based on selected preferences, current energy costs and the position and orientation of the roof to calculate the efficiency of the system. Projections are based on estimated usage of 8000 kWh per year, assuming Standard Variable Electricity Tariff.

The MCS output (MIS 3002) and self-consumption (MGD 003) calculation methodology was not used in calculating the numbers in the table below. An alternative calculator System Advisor Model 2020.02.29.r2 was used.
