Myenergi’s Libbi Solar Battery Storage
What is the Myenergi Libbi battery storage?
Libbi is an eco-smart battery storage system, this means it makes decisions about when it provides and stores electricity based on how much energy you use and generate with your solar installation and the energy tariff you use. Myenergi allows you to use as much surplus solar electricity as possible, it is also built to integrate with your existing Myenergi devices such as the Myenergi Zappi EV charger or the Myenergi Eddi.
What’s different about the Myenergi Libbi battery storage?
Myenergi have made it possible to monitor and control your battery storage using the Myenergi app with the aim of reducing your energy cost and reliance on the grid. You are able to monitor your imported and exported electricity and prioritise loads making it easy to charge your electric vehicle or solar battery directly from your battery, solar panels or even the grid.
How do I know what system suits me?
Libbi solar battery storage works as both an AC in your home and DC energy used by solar panels without the need for a separate inverter or retrofit to any existing home set up. To see which system fits you, see chart below:
Does the Libbi battery storage work in a power cut?
Libbi home battery storage system can be installed with optional ‘blackout back-up’. This means that in the event of a power outage, the Libbi will provide the electricity it’s stored to a dedicated circuit or socket that’s connected to the back-up output.
Where can the Libbi solar battery storage be installed?
The Libbi battery storage system and inverter can be installed both indoors and outdoors, however the Libbi controller must be installed indoors. When installing indoors, there needs to be enough space around the system to allow for air flow. The Libbi can’t usually be installed in loft spaces due to the weight.
If you are thinking about having the Libbi installed, at The Skill Group we are certified Myenergi installers and will walk you through the best location for your Libbi during initial survey.
Do I have to pay VAT on battery storage?
From the 1st of February 2024, the UK Government has extended the VAT relief on battery storage policy.
Prior to February 1st, this was limited to batteries installed alongside solar panels, but the policy now includes VAT relief on standalone battery storage and retrofitted batteries!
